COMUNICATI ANSAMED MEDITERRANEO: A MALTA ASSEMBLEA PAM DISCUTE DIALOGO CIVILTA´ (ANSAmed) - BRUXELLES, 7 FEB - Si sono aperti oggi a Malta i lavori della commissione per il dialogo tra civiltà e i diritti umani dell´Assemblea parlamentare del Mediterraneo (Pam), ovvero l´istituzione che riunisce rappresentanti dei parlamenti nazionali dei Paesi delle due sponde. Le commissioni hanno il compito di mandare avanti il lavoro dell´assemblea. Oltre a quella sui diritti ne esistono altre due: quella di politica e sicurezza e quella di economia e cooperazione sociale. Alla riunione di oggi parteciperanno deputati da Algeria, Francia, Grecia, Italia, Giordania, Malta, Marocco, Autorità nazionale palestinese, Portogallo, Serbia, Slovenia, Siria e Tunisia. A loro toccherà individuare le priorità da inserire nel piano d´azione dell´Assemblea, e fare le raccomandazioni che saranno adottate dalla prossima sessione plenaria della Pam. (ANSAmed). 2008-02-07 16:50 MED: IN MALTA PAM DISCUSSES DIALOGUE BETWEEN CIVILISATIONS (ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 7 - The work of the commission for dialogue between civilisations and human rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), that is the institution which includes the representatives of the national parliaments of the countries of the two coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, started today in Malta. The commissions have the task to carry on the work of the Assembly. Apart from the one for human rights, there are a two more commissions: one for politics and security and one for economy and social cooperation. MPs from Algeria, France, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Malta, Morocco, Palestinian National Authority, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Syria and Tunisia will participate in today´s meeting. They will have to identify the priorities to insert in the Assembly´s action plan and will make recommendations which will be adopted during the next plenary session of the Assembly. (ANSAmed). 2008-02-07 18:55 MEDITERRANEO: ASSEMBLEA PAM, DIALOGO COMBATTE ESTREMISMI (ANSAmed) - BRUXELLES, 8 FEB - Il dialogo interculturale e interreligioso nel Mediterraneo è un viatico importante per la pace, la sicurezza e per combattere fondamentalismi e terrorismo. Con l´impegno ad aumentare lo scambio tra civiltà si è chiuso oggi a Malta il secondo incontro della commissione su dialogo e diritti umani dell´Assemblea parlamentare del Mediterraneo (Pam), l´istituzione che riunisce rappresentanti dei parlamenti nazionali delle due sponde. La commissione guidata dal senatore italiano Learco Saporito e dal siriano Salah Toma ha rilevato come nonostante le tecnologie di comunicazione si siano sviluppate rapidamente, lo scambio tra le popolazioni non sia aumentato con lo stesso passo. "La diversità è una caratteristica distintiva del Mediterraneo, una regione che è stata sempre un luogo d´incontro di culture e religioni", si legge nel testo di conclusioni adottato dalla Pam. L´Assemblea ha poi ribadito il ruolo centrale dei Parlamenti nazionali che devono lavorare per abbattere le barriere tra i Paesi. Infine, il segretario generale della Pam, Sergio Piazzi, ha lanciato la proposta di indire per il 21 marzo la giornata del Mediterraneo e un premio per le istituzioni, organizzazioni o associazioni che hanno promosso la cultura e gli ideali mediterranei. 2008-02-08 19:59 MEDITERRANEAN: PAM ASSEMBLY CALLS FOR DIALOGUE TOWARDS PEACE (ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 8 - The intercultural and interreligious dialogue in the Mediterranean is an important pathway for peace, security and for combating fundamentalisms and terrorism. This was the major topic at the centre of discussions during the 2nd Meeting of the Standing Committee on Dialogue and Civilisations and Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) which closed today. The Committee is under the presidency of the Italian Senator Learco Saporito and the vice-presidency of the Syrian MP Mr Salah Toma. The meeting was held at the PAM Headquarters in Malta. It was pointed out that while technology and communications have developed, understanding between cultures has not held the same pace and therefore there is still need for all to open up and learn more about each other. Diversity is a distinctive characteristic of the Mediterranean, a region which has always been a meeting place for the most diverse cultures and religions. To this end, with National Parliaments playing a central role, it is necessary to work towards fresh structural considerations to uphold new transnational policies. On a general note the Secretary General of PAM, Sergio Piazzi, also launched the idea of a Mediterranean Day to be held annually on 21st March and a PAM prize to reward individuals, organizations and institutions who have actively promoted, through their work and activities, the Mediterranean ideals.(ANSAmed). 2008-02-08 19:58 Torna indietro |
