Prime Minister Georgievski nominated for award of culture

 

At the opening ceremony in the head office of the Mediterranean Academy in Marseilles - France, Minister of Environment of the Republic of Macedonia Toni Popovski greeted the present on behalf of the Macedonian Prime Minister Ljubco Georgievski.

In his note to the meeting, Prime Minister Georgievski thanked to the Bureau of the Academy for his nomination for the Mediterranean Award for culture for the year 2000. Prime Minister Georgievski was nominated for Macedonia's exceptional contribution to the building of a civil and democratic society, its intensive cooperation with the Region of Southeastern Europe, as well as for its contribution to the realization of the Stability Pact goals.

Previous winner of the Mediterranean award for culture was the Spanish King, Juan Carlos.
At the session, Minister Popovski was appointed President of the head office of the Mediterranean Academy for Southeastern Europe.
