In this collection of poems, Piero Amerio, docteur de recherche
at Paris University and Professor of Social Psychology and Community
Psychology at Turin University, meditates on the moments - sometimes
fatal - when a person is on the verge of the abyss, in a kind
of tenebrous continuum that it is difficult to face with the
weapon of joy: as though the excellence and favour of social
communication were upset in a crucial resistance, a “no”
or “I don’t know” by the individual, a profound
and sharp refusal of a consoling “chain”. And in
this way the survival maps generously prepared by the Professor
in the daytime, for the public well-being, are reduced to ashes
in his poetic night.
