PRÍNCIPE HASSAN BIN TALAL
(Jordania)


Licenciado y Master en Estudios Orientales por la Universidad de Oxford, su Alteza Real ha recibido numerosos galardones y reconocimientos tales como, el Doctorado Honorífico en Letras ( Universidad de Ulster) o el Doctorado en Derecho (Universidad de Birmingham), entre otros.

Recibió la Medalla Abu Bakr Al-Siddique de la Asociación de la Media Luna Roja y la Sociedad de la Cruz Roja (1996) y el Premio de las Ciencias y la Sociedad, en Madrid (1997).

Su Alteza Real, ha fundado y está activamente implicado en diferentes institutos y comités internacionales, entre los que cabe destacar: el grupo Consultivo de la Oficina del Alto Comisionado de la Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados. Es Presidente del Club de Roma y Miembro Honorario de la Comisión de la UNESCO para la Cultura y el Desarrollo. En 1970, fundó la Sociedad Real Científica.

También fundó y actualmente dirige The Islamic Scientific Academy, The Arab Youth Forum and El Hassan Youth Award.

Autor de una totalidad de 6 libros entre los que cabe mencionar: "A Study on Jerusalem" o “Search for Peace". Además, ha colaborado en numerosos periódicos con artículos que versan sobre asuntos en materia regional e internacional.


PRINCE HASSAN BIN TALAL

B.A in Oriental Studies (Oxford University), followed by an M.A, his royal Highness has also been awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters (University of Ulster), Doctorate of Laws ( University of Birmingham).

Prince El Hassan received the Abu Bakr Al-Siddique Medal of the Organisation of Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in September (1996) and the Sciencie and Society Prize in Madrid (1997).

Prince El Hassan has founded and is actively involved in a number of Jordanian and international institutes and committees, is member of a number of international committees and organisations, these include: member of the informal Advisory Group to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. He also chairs, and is President of the Club of Rome and Honorary Member of UNESCO World Commission on Culture and Development. In 1970, His Royal Highness founded the Royal Scientific Society.

He has also established and directs The Islamic Scientific Academy, The Arab Youth Forum and El Hassan Youth Award.

He is the author of a total of 6 books, among these to mention: “ A Study on Jerusalem” and "Search for Peace”. Besides, he has also contributed to several newspapers, magazines as well as publications on regional and international issues.




MANUEL CHAVES GONZÁLEZ
Presidente de la Junta de Andalucía

Presidente de la Junta de Andalucía desde 27 de julio de 1990, tras las elecciones autonómicas del 23 de junio de 1990.

Parlamentario por Cádiz en el Parlamento andaluz desde 1990. Diputado por Cádiz en el Congreso desde las primeras elecciones democráticas, en 1977, hasta la primavera de 1990. Ministro de Trabajo y Seguridad Social entre 1986 y 1990.

Miembro del Comité de las Regiones de Europa desde su constitución en 1994, Manuel Chaves ha presidido en los dos últimos años la Delegación Española en este órgano, además de pertenecer a su Buró. En el marco de su actividad europea, durante los últimos años viene impulsando un lobby de regiones mediterráneas, liderado por Andalucía y Toscana (Italia), para reforzar el papel de estos territorios en la Unión Europea y fomentar la cooperación con la ribera Sur del Mediterráneo, aprovechando el modelo pionero desarrollado por la Junta de Andalucía con el Reino de Marruecos.

Member of Parliament for Cadiz in the Andalusian Parliament since 1990. M.P. for Cadiz in the Congress of Deputies since the first democratic elections of 1977 until the Spring of 1990. Minister of Work and Social Security from 1986 to 1990.

Member of the Regions of Europe Committee since its foundation in 1994, Manuel Chaves has been in the chair of the Spanish branch of this mentioned body during the last two years. Besides, he as belonged to its Bureau. Within the frame of his European activities, and during the last few years, he has promoted a lobby of Mediterranean Regions. This group has Andalusia and Tuscany (Italy) in the fore. This allows to bolster the role of these territories in the European Union and to encourage the cooperation with the Southern Mediterranean coastal areas by taking advantage of the pioneering model developed by the Junta de Andalucía with the Kingdom of Morocco.

Doctor en Farmacia por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, en 1963 fue Catedrático de Bioquímica de la Facultad de Farmacia de la Universidad de Granada y en 1968 llegó a ser Rector de esta Institución, cargo que desempeñó hasta 1972. Al año siguiente fue nombrado catedrático de su especialidad en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Cofundador en 1974 del Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa, de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid y del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas.

Entre otras responsabilidades políticas, el Profesor Mayor Zaragoza ha desempeñado los cargos de Subsecretario de Educación y Ciencia del Gobierno Español (1974-75), Diputado al Parlamento Español (1977-78), Consejero del Presidente del Gobierno (1977-78), Ministro de Educación y Ciencia(1981-82) y Diputado al Parlamento Europeo (1987).

En 1978 pasó a ocupar el cargo de Director General Adjunto de la UNESCO y, en 1987, fue elegido Director General de dicha Organización, siendo reelegido en 1993 para un segundo mandato.

Es actualmente Presidente de la Fundación Cultura de Paz, constituida en Madrid en marzo de 2000.

Además de numerosas publicaciones científicas, el profesor Federico Mayor ha publicado poemarios, “A Contraviento” (1985), “Aguafuertes” (1991), y varios libros de ensayos: Un mundo nuevo (1999), Mañana siempre es tarde(1987), Sciencie and Power (1995).

PhD in Pharmacy ( Completense University, Madrid), in 1963 he became professor of Biochemistry at Pharmacy University (Granada), and in 1968 he became president at this University until 1972.

In 1973 he became professor of his speciality at Autónomy University (Madrid).

In 1974 he was co-founder of the “ Severo Ochoa Molecular Biology Center” as well as “High Scientific Investigation Council”

He has held several political positions, such as Spanish Undersecretary of Education and Science ( 1974-75), Member of the Spanish Parliament ( 1977-78), Counsellor of the Spanish Prime, Minister of Education and Science (1981-82), Member of the European Parliament (1987).

In 1978, he became Assistant General Director of UNESCO, and in 1987, he was appointed General Director. In 1993 he was re-elected General Director in this Organization. President of the “ Culture for Peace Foundation”, constituted in Madrid ( March 2000).

Besides several scientific publications, Federico Mayor has published some collections of poems, such as “A contraviento”(1985), “Aguafuertes” (1991), and some books: Un Mundo Nuevo ( 1999), Mañana siempre es tarde ( 1987), Science and Power (1995).





TARIQ RAMADAN
Islamólogo
(Francia)


Doctor en Islamología por la Universidad de Ginebra y Master en Filosofía y Literatura Francesa, es Fundador y Presidente de la Asociación para la Promoción de la Pedagogía de la Solidaridad. Actualmente también es miembro de la comisión “ Laicismo e Islam” de la Liga Francesa de Enseñanza.

Durante el período comprendido entre 1988- 1992 ejerce como Decano en el Colegio de Ginebra, donde actualmente enseña Filosofía.

Profesor de Islamología en la Universidad de Friburgo ( Suiza), participa activamente en debates sobre el Islam así como en numerosos grupos de trabajo en Europa y en el resto del mundo, tales como: British Council, Barcelona 2004, Viena Peace, Deutches Orient- Institut

Participa igualmente como experto en diversas comisiones pertenecientes al Parlamento de Bruselas.

Es autor de numerosos libros entre los que cabe destacar “ El camino hacia la coexistencia” y “ Ser un musulmán europeo”.



TARIQ RAMADAN

PHD in Studies about the Islam (Univ. Geneva) and Master in Philosophy and French Literature, is Founder and President of the Association for the Promotion of the Pedagogy for the Solidarity. Likewise he is currently member of the Commission “Laicism and Islam” of the French Education League.

During the period between 1988 – 1992 was Dean in the College of Geneva, where is nowadays teaching philosophy.

PHD in Studies about the Islam (Univ. Of Friburgo, Switzland), participates actively in discussions about the Islam as well as in several working teams in Europe and the rest of the world, such as: The British Council, Barcelona 2004, Viena Peace, Deutches Orient – Institut.

He participates as an expert in different commissions owning to the Parliament of Brussels. He is author of many books among which we can draw the attention to “The Way to a Coexistence” and “ Being an European Muslim”




CARMEN ROMERO LÓPEZ
Miembro del Congreso de los Diputados

Licenciada en 1968 en Filología Moderna por la Universidad de Sevilla.

De 1976 a 1986 es miembro de la Comisión Ejecutiva Federal de FETE – UGT. En el mismo período enseña Lengua y Literatura española en el instituto de secundaria Calderón de la Barca en Madrid. En 1978 ocupa la Secretaría de Prensa y Propaganda en la Comisión Ejecutiva Federal de FETE – UGT. En 1982 participa en la creación dela Fundación para la Renovación de la Escuela. Cuatro años más tarde (1986 – 87) participa en la estrategia del 25% en el 31 Congreso del PSOE. En 1988 es nombrada Coordinadora del equipo para la elaboración del informe “Estrategias para la Igualdad de Sexos” del Programa 2000.

Es nombrada Diputada por Cádiz en las Elecciones Generales del 29 de Octubre en 1989. En años posteriores es reelegida Diputada por Cádiz en tres ocasiones (1993, 1996 y 2000). Desde 1990 ha publicado numerosas obras de traducción y ensayo, así como colabora activamente en conferencias, mesas redondas y debates en los principales medios de comunicación españoles.

Actualmente es Miembro en el Congreso de los Diputados de las Comisiones de Educación, Política Social y Empleo; y ejerce de Portavoz del grupo socialista en la Comisión Mixta para el Estudio del Problema de la Droga.



CARMEN ROMERO LOPEZ

BA in 1968 in Modern Philology at Seville University.

From 1976 until 1986 is member of the Executive Federal Commission of FETE – UGT. In the same period teaches Spanish Language and Literature in the High School “Calderón de la Barca” in Madrid. In 1978 she was appointed Press Secretary in the Executive Federal Commission.

In 1982 she contributed in the setting up of the Foundation for The School Renovation.

In 1986 she was a key member in bolstering the women quota of 25 % in the 31 Congress of the Spanish Party.

In 1988 she was appointed Coordinator of the team that elaborated the report “ Strategies for the Gender Equality”, embodied in the “ Programme 2000”.

She was appointed member of the Parliament for Cadiz Constituency (October 1989). She was re-elected for three times ( 1993, 1996 y 2000). Since 1990 she has published several essays and translations. She collaborates in conferences, roundtables and debates for the most important Spanish mass media.




RACHID BENMOKHTAR BENABDELLAH
Presidente de la Universidad Al Akhawayn
(Marruecos)


De 1995 a 1998 fue Ministro de Educación Nacional de Marruecos. Está titulado en ingeniería y en asuntos internacionales.

En su calidad de miembro del Club de Roma, promovió la introducción de ordenadores en las escuelas y colegios secundarios de Marruecos y fue encargado por el Ministerio de Educación de la reforma del sistema educacional.

El Profesor Benmokhtar es Chevalier du Ouissam Alaoui y Oficial de la Legión de Honor de la República Francesa.

Es también miembro del Consejo Asesor Externo del Banco Mundial y Presidente de la Fundación Naturaleza y Hombre, de Marruecos.



RACHID BENMOKHTAR BENABDELLAH
Chairman of the University of Al Akhawayn
(Morocco)

From 1995 to 1998, he was Minister of Education in Morocco. He has a degree in engineering and international affairs.

As member of the Club of Rome, he promoted the introduction of computers in high schools and colleges and consequently, he was asked to develop the educational reform by the Ministry of Education.

He is Chevalier du Ouissam Alaoui and was decorated with the French Legion of Honour.

Likewise he is member of the World Bank Advisory Council and Chairman of the Man and Nature Foundation ( Morocco).





AMR MAHMUD MUSA

Desde 1958, ha desempeñado diversos cargos en el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de Egipto: Consejero del Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores (1977-1974), Director del Departamento de Organizaciones Internacionales, y finalmente Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores. (1991-2001)

Fue Embajador de la República Árabe de Egipto en la India durante el período 1983-1986 y Representante Permanente de la República Árabe de Egipto en la ONU (New York) en los períodos comprendidos entre 1981-1983 y 1990-1991.


AMR MAHMUD MUSA

He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1958, and there he held different positions as Assistant and Advisor to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt (1974-77). He is Director of the Department of International Organizations, as well as Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

He was Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to India (1983-1986) and permanent Representative of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United Nations (Nueva York ) 1981-83, 1990-91.




SUFIAN ABU ZAIDA
Vice-Ministro de la ANP
(Palestina)


Licenciado en Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Gaza, Master en Resoluciones de Conflictos por la Universidad de Bradford (Reino Unido) , actualmente está haciendo el doctorado en Ciencias Políticas en la Universidad de Exeter (Reino Unido).

Ostenta el cargo de Vice Ministro de la Autoridad Palestina (Ministerio de Asuntos Sociales) desde 1999.Fue Director General en el período comprendido entre 1994-1999, en el Ministerio de Planificación y Cooperación Internacional.

Asimismo, es miembro de la Delegación Palestina desde 1994, jefe del Comité de Cooperación y miembro del Comité de Dirección durante las negociaciones con Israel.

Ha participado en numerosas conferencias y encuentros entre palestinos e israelíes para mejorar y reforzar el diálogo entre las partes en Grecia, Italia y Turquía.



SUFIAN ABU ZAIDA

BA in Social Science Gaza University, MA in Conflict Resolution, Bradford University (UK), he is currently doing PhD in Politics, Exeter University (UK).

He is Deputy Minister in the Palestinian Authority (Ministry of Civilian Affairs) since 1999. He was Director General in the Ministry Planning and International Cooperation 1994-1999.

Member of the Palestinian Delegation since1994, Head of the Cooperation committee, member of the Steering Committee, member in the Prisoners Committee during the negotiations over the interim agreement.

He has participated in several conferences and meetings between Palestinians and Israelis to enhance the understanding and the dialogue between both sides in Greece, Italy and Turkey.




OFER BRONCHTEIN
Co-fundador del Foro para la Paz y la Reconciliación en Oriente Medio


Licenciado en Relaciones Internacionales, Filosofía y Ciencias Políticas. Desde 1993 hasta 2001, ostentó el cargo de Director Ejecutivo y presidente del Centro Internacional para la Paz en Oriente Medio.

En el período comprendido entre 1997 a 2001, fue Director Ejecutivo del Instituto Internacional para la Solidaridad y el Desarrollo, así como Director Ejecutivo del Instituto Árabe y Judío. Fue miembro del equipo estratégico de la oficina del Primer Ministro Rabin (1992) y miembro del Consejo Nacional de Trabajadores Sociales (1993).

En 1993, organizó, a petición del Primer Ministro Rabin, el primer encuentro entre un Ministro Israelí y el presidente Arafat. Dicha reunión tuvo lugar en Túnez.

En 1996, estableció el Forum para la Paz y la Justicia Social.

Fue uno de los impulsores de los encuentros entre los responsables políticos israelíes, el rey Hussein de Jordania y el presidente egipcio Mubarak. En 1998, establece el Forum palestino / israelí de periodistas y opinión Pública, forum constituido en Rodas, Grecia.

En 1999, interviene en la creación de la primera Cámara de Comercio integrada por palestinos e israelíes. Fue miembro del Foro MENA, foro del Banco Mundial para el desarrollo económico en Oriente Medio y Norte de África.



OFER BRONCHTEIN
Co founder of the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation in the Middle East.

BA in International Relations, Philosophy and Political Science. Since 1993 until 2001 he became Executive director and President of the International Center for Peace in the Middle East.

He was Executive director of People International Institute for Solidarity and Development and Executive director of the Arab an Jewish Institute ( 1997-2001).

He was member of the Strategic Team in the late Prime Minister Rabin´s office (1992), and member of the National Social Workers Council (1993).

In 1993, He organized and accompanied (by request of Prime Minister Rabin) the first Israeli Minister to meet with Chairman Arafat in Tunis, Tunisia.

He established the Peace an Social Justice Forum in 1996.

He was one of the initiators of meetings between Israeli policy makers with King Hussein of Jordan and President Mubarak of Egypt and he established the Israeli / Palestinian Public Opinion Molders and Journalist Forum (Constituted in Rhodeas, Greece in 1998).

In 1999 he initiated the first joint Palestinian / Israeli Chamber of Commerce. He is member of the MENA Forum ( World Bank Forum for Economic Development in the Middle East and North Africa).

Michael Young es comentarista político en el Líbano. Escribe un artículo semanal en el periódico inglés-libanés Daily Star.

Es editor en el magazine Reason, en EE.UU.

Autor de varias publicaciones en el Líbano, EE.UU y Europa, y hasta el 2001 fue el editor de la publicación mensual libanesa Lebanon Report, publicado por el Centro Libanés para Estudios Policiales en Beirut.

Imparte en la actualidad un curso sobre la posguerra estadounidense en la Universidad Saint Joseph de Beirut.

Michael Young is a journalist and political commentator in Lebanon. He writes a weekly commentary for the Daily Star, Lebanon´s English-language newspaper.

He is also a contributing editor at Reason magazine in the United States.

He has written for a variety of publications in Lebanon, the US and Europe, and until 2001 was editor of the Lebanon Report monthly, published by the Lebanese Centre for Policy Studies in Beirut.

He also teaches a course on post-war US history at St. Joseph University in Beirut.




MOHAMED CHARFI

Doctorado en Derecho en Francia en 1967, es nombrado Catedrático 1971. De 1964 a 1989 desempeña diversos cargos, primero en la Facultad de Derecho de Túnez y posteriormente en la Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas de Túnez.: Profesor, Director de Conferencias, Director del Departamento de Derecho Privado, Director del Centro de Investigaciones, Secretario de redacción, y posteriormente Redactor Jefe de la Revista Tunecina de Derecho.

Desde 1996 es Profesor Emérito de la Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas, Políticas y Sociales de Túnez.

Dentro de sus actividades políticas destacan: de 1981 a 1989 ostentó el cargo Vice – Presidente y, posteriormente, Presidente de la Liga Tunecina de Defensa de los Derechos Humanos. Es a su vez Presidente fundador de la Asociación “Encuentros Magrebíes” (1981).

De 1988 a 1994 es Ministro de Educación, de Enseñanza Superior y de Investigación Científica. Es coautor además del Manifiesto de los Demócratas Tunecinos (2001).-

Además, junto a su actividad profesional y política destaca como intelectual y autor de numerosas obras de derecho, ensayo (destacamos Islam y Libertad, un malentendido histórico) y educación (La Reforma del Sistema Educativo). Colabora activamente en los medios de comunicación internacionales, conferencias, simposios y cursos.

JUAN ANTONIO CARRILLO SALCEDO

Professor of Public International Law at Seville Law University. Prior to this, he has been Professor of Public and Private International Law at Granada University and Autonomy University of Madrid (1974 – 1980). He has been Dean in the Faculties of Law in the Autonomy University of Madrid and in Seville University.

Cum Laude Diploma at the Academy of International Law in the Hague (1959) as well as at the Research Center in the Hague (1959 and 1960: Law of Sea, and Law of Agreements).

Director of the francophone section of the Studies and Research Center at the Academy of International Law of the Hague (1988). Matter: Legal aspects of the International Terrorism.

Member of the European Commission of Human Rights (1979 – 1985) and Judge of the European Court of Human Rights (1986 – 90).

Founder and member of the Spanish Association of International Law and International Relations professors.

Since 1997, he is member of the Institute Hispano–Luso- Americano of International Law.

Catedrática de Psicología Social en la Universidad “ Federico II” de Nápoles y Vicepresidenta de la Fundación Laboratorio Mediterráneo.

En 1997 organizó el I Congreso sobre Psicología Social “ Social Empowerment”, financiado por la Unión Europea.

En el período 1994-99 fue presidenta de la Asociación italiana de psicología social y fundadora de ENCP (European Network of Community Psychologist).

Actualmente es directora del master “ Theories in Community Complexity and Development “, nombrada por el Ministerio de Investigación Científica y Universitaria de Italia, también ostenta el cargo de directora de los proyectos de investigación y formación para el servicio sanitario.

Autora de numerosas publicaciones, entre ellas cabe destacar, “Multiculturalitá e sistema globale” 2002.


CATERINA ARCIDIACONO
V. President of Foundazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo

Professor of Social and Community Psychology, Department of Relational Sciences, University of “ Federico II” in Naples.

From 1980 to 2001, Naples Health Authority psychologist acting as Director in Charge of the Family, a structure integrated with Naples City Hall.

From 1996 as “ Professore a contratto” she held the principal course on Community Psychology at the SUN University of Naples in the degree course in Psychology.

She also held regular courses at the Federico II University of Naples in the postgraduate School of life Span Psychology.

In 19797 she was responsible for the First Congress on Community Psychology “Social Empowerment”, sponsored and funded by the EC.

From 1994 -1999 she was President of the Italian Association of Community Psychology and was a founder of ENCO (European Network of Community Psychologists).

Currently Director in charge of the Biannual Post-graduate master Course in “Theories in Community Complexity and Development” appointed by the Ministry for University and Scientific Research.

Former Director in charge of research –intervention and training projects for the city health service system, appointed by Naples City Hall and by the Ministry of Social Solidarity.


She has published over 50 articles and books, (Multiculturalitá e Sistema Gglobale, 2002).

Licenciado en Políticas por la Universidad de Grenoble, y Master en Políticas por la Universidad de Keele, como analista político a lo largo de 17 años con el Financial Times ha adquirido una importante experiencia y contactos de alto nivel en el Norte de África.

Actualmente es periodista independiente y asesor, especializado en política, economía y análisis financiero y energético en el Norte de África y en la Región Occidental Mediterránea.

Entre sus muchas colaboraciones para los medios de comunicación, cabe destacar en la prensa escrita: Le Monde, El País, The New York Times, The Internacional Herald Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, Libération; en la radio: BBC World Service, France info; para la televisión: BBC, CNN, ITV, y otras colaboraciones para diversas revistas (Le Monde Diplomatique, Euromoney...etc).

Ha impartido numerosas conferencias en Universidades e Institutos de Investigación, tales como, Columbia University, Princeton University, Institut d´Etudes Politiques de París, University of Tel Aviv...etc.

BA in Politics ( University of Grenoble) and MA in Politics ( University of Keele), political scientist who through seventeen years with the Financial Times has built up extensive experience and high level contacts throughout North africa. Now he is an independent journalist and consultant, specialising in political, economic, financial and energy analysis of North Africa and the Western Mediterranean region .

To mention his valuable collaboration with a great number of media ( le Monde, El Pais,The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, Libération, BBC World Service, France Info, BBC, CNN; ITV, le Monde Diplomatique, Euromoney…).

He has given lot of lectures at many Universities and research institutes including: Columbia University, Princeton University, Institut d´etudes Politiques de Paris, university of Tel Aviv.

He collaborates with different organizations, Council of Foreign Relations, The Pentagon, Bertelsmann Foundation, Royal College of Defence, Ministére de la Défense à Paris, CERI in Madrid.

He is Co-founded with James Ball of “ the annual Mediterranean Gas Conference” , and member of the Comité Scientifique, WorldMed Institute.





MICHELE CAPASSO
Director General de la Accademia del Mediterraneo

Estudioso del Área mediterránea, escritor, poeta, filósofo, filólogo, economista, y autor de numerosas publicaciones sobre la vida y la sociedad de los pueblos del Mediterráneo, así como de numerosos artículos en los principales periódicos italianos e internacionales ( La República, El País, Le Monde...etc).

Director General de la Academia del Mediterráneo , organismo fundado por 67 academias de todos los países mediterráneos donde se incluyen 561 instituciones y se articula en 90 sedes diferentes en varios países.

Organizador en Nápoles del Convenio Internacional “ El Mediterráneo y Europa”, cuyas conclusiones fueron presentadas a la Conferencia Euromediterránea de Barcelona en noviembre de 1995. Asímismo organizó el II Forum Civil Euromed que tuvo lugar en Nápoles en diciembre de 1997.

Es Presidente de la Fundación Laboratorio Mediterráneo, Director General de “Almamed” ( organismo que reúne a las principales universidades euromediterránea, coordinadas por la Universidad de Bolonia) y Director General de “ Euromedcity”( organismo que reúne a la principales ciudades euromediterráneas, coordinadas por la ciudad de Sevilla).

Entre sus publicaciones cabe destacar “religión y diálogo intercultural en el Mediterráneo”, y“ El patrimonio cultural del Mediterráneo”.

Ha recibido numerosos premios y reconocimientos Internacionales entre los que cabe destacar la “ Orden de Honor de la Independencia del Reino de Jordania”, concedida por el Rey Abdallah II de Jordania.



MICHELE CAPASSO
General Director of the Mediterranean Academy

Scholar of the Mediterranean area, writer, poet, philosopher, philologist, economist and author of a large amount of publications about the life and society of the Mediterranean people, as well as several articles in the main international and Italian newspapers (La Republica, El País, Le Monde, etc…).

General Director of the Mediterranean Academy, organism founded by 67 academies of all over the mediterranean countries, including 561 institutions and works with 90 different centres in several countries.

Organizer in Naples of the international Conference The Mediterranean and Europe, which conclusions were submitted to the Euromediterranean Conference of Barcelona in november 1995. Likewise he organized the Civil Forum II Euromed thas was held in Naples in december 1997.

President of the Mediterranean Foundation Laboratory, General Director of “Almamed” (organism that joins the main Euromediterranean Universities coordinated by the University of Bolonia); General Director of “Euromed city” (organism that joins the main euro - mediterranean cities coordinated by the University of Seville).

Among his publications, we draw the attention to the following ones: “Intercultural Religión and Dialogue in the Mediterranean Sea” and “The Cultural Heritage of the Mediterranean” .

He has been awarded with numerous awards and international acknowledges among which we draw the attention to the “Order of Honour of the Independence of the Jordanian Kingdom”, granted by the King Abdallah II of Jordan.






JERÓNIMO PÁEZ LÓPEZ

Licenciado en Derecho por la Universidad de Granada. Concibe y promueve El,Legado Andalusí, una propuesta cultural y turística de la Junta de Andalucía que se propone recuperar, difundir y preservar el patrimonio histórico, monumental y cultural de Andalucía y potenciar, en base a nuestra historia común, las relaciones con los países del Mediterráneo y, en especial, con el Magreb y el Mundo Árabe a través de la difusión de nuestros vínculos culturales.

Ha participado en numerosas conferencias sobre el desarrollo de Marruecos en el marco del Grupo de Estudios para el Mediterráneo, en la Universidad de Rabat, y en diferentes coloquios sobre las relaciones entre España y Marruecos y sobre cuestiones de desarrollo regional y de relaciones entre países del arco mediterráneo.

Ha publicado numerosos artículos sobre cooperación en el Mediterráneo, sobre la situación económica y social y las relaciones hispano-marroquíes.

Ha sido galardonado con la medalla al Mérito Turístico por el proyecto El Legado Andalusí, concedida por el Ministerio de Turismo de España.

Actualmente es miembro del Comité Averroes, comité encargado de promover el entendimiento y el conocimiento mutuo entre España y Marruecos.



JERÓNIMO PÁEZ LÓPEZ
Cultural Adviser of the Fundación El Legado Andalusí
(Spain)

BA in Law (University of Granada). He conceives and promotes El Legado Andalusí, a tourist and cultural proposal of the Government of Andalusia which has the aim of recovering, preserving and spreading the historical, cultural and monumental heritage of Andalusia; and improving, based in our common history, our relationships with the Mediterranean countries, specially, with the Magreb and the arab world through the spread of our cultural relations.

He has joined many conferences about the development of Morocco in the framework of the Group of Studies of the Mediterranean sea (University of Rabat); and different symposiums about the relationship between Spain and Morocco, matters about regional developments and the different relations among the countries of the Mediterranean sea.

He has published several articles about the cooperation in the Mediterranean sea, and about the economical and social situation of the relations between Spain and Morocco.

He has been awarded by the Tourist Ministry of Spain with the medal of the Tourist Merit for the project El Legado Andalusí.

He is currently member of the Comité Averroes, committee in charge of promoting the understanding and the mutual knowledge between Spain and Morrocco.
