MEDITERRANEO:
EUROPA E ISLAM; ATTORI IN DIALOGO, CONVEGNO

- NAPOLI, 9 FEB - Si terrà domani, alle 17, presso la Fondazione
Laboratorio Mediterraneo di Napoli un incontro-conferenza stampa
per presentare le linee guida della nuova azione della Fondazione,
in collaborazione con Ansamed, dal titolo "Mediterraneo, Europa
e Islam: attori in dialogo" che ha lo scopo di rafforzare la
mutua comprensione e la pace nello spazio euromediterraneo. La conferenza
conclude la riunione del comitato scientifico esecutivo della Fondazione
e vede la presenza di John Esposito, che lo presiede, di Predrag
Matvejevic¿ (Presidente del comitato scientifico internazionale),
Walter Schwimmer (segretario generale della Maison de la Mediterranee
ed ex segretario generale del Consiglio d'Europa) e di molti prestigiosi
membri di vari Paesi. Tra questi sono stati invitati i componenti
del 'Gruppo dei Saggi' (tra cui Bichara Khader, Palestina; Malek
Chebel, Algeria; Predrag Matvejevic, Bosnia; Fatima Mernissi, Marocco,
Tariq Ramadan) che, per la prima volta riunite tutte insieme a Napoli,
rifletteranno sul tema del dialogo tra le culture: un vero confronto
tra voci diverse che possono offrire strumenti indispensabili per
un reale dialogo tra il Mediterraneo, l'Europa e l'Islam. Inoltre,
parteciperanno all'incontro il presidente e la vicepresidente della
FLM Michele Capasso e Caterina Arcidiacono, il vicepresidente del
Consiglio d'Europa Claudio Azzolini e, per l'Ansa e Ansamed, il
direttore generale Pierluigi Magnaschi e l'amministratore delegato
Mario Rosso. Il comitato scientifico sostiene la partnership tra
la Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo e Galassia Gutenberg e propone
di ospitare, nelle prossime edizioni, una sezione stabile dedicata
al Mediterraneo con editori provenienti dai Paesi arabi. (ANSAMED).

- NAPLES, FEBRUARY 9 - A meeting and press conference to present
the guidelines of the Mediterranean Laboratory Foundation's new
initiative, in cooperation with Ansamed, under the title "Mediterranean,
Europe and Islam: actors in a dialogue", will take place tomorrow
at 5 p.m. at the Foundation's headquarters in Naples. The initiative
is aimed at strengthening reciprocal understanding and peace among
countries in the Euro-Mediterranean area. The conference wraps up
a meeting of the executive scientific committee of the Foundation
chaired by John Esposito, with the participation of Predrag Matvejevic
(President of the international scientific committee), Walter Schwimmer
(segretary general of the Maison de la Mediterranee and former secretary
general of the Council of Europe) and several prestigious representatives
of a number of countries. Among them were invited members of the
'Group of wise men' (including Bichara Khader, Palestine; Malek
Chebel, Algeria; Predrag Matvejevic, Bosnia; Fatima Mernissi, Morocco,
Tariq Ramadan) who, for the first time together in Naples, will
discuss the issue of dialogue among cultures. At the meeting will
be the president and vice president of MLF Michele Capasso and Caterina
Arcidiacono, the vice president of the Council of Europe Claudio
Azzolini and, representing Ansa and Ansamed, the editor in chief
Pierluigi Magnaschi and managing director and CEO Mario Rosso. The
scientific committee supports the partnership between the Mediterranean
Laboratory Foundation and the Gutenberg Galaxy and proposes to host,
in the next editions, a permanent section dedicated to the Mediterranean
