EUROMED: AZOULAY E' NUOVO PRESIDENTE FONDAZIONE ANNA LINDH
(ANSAmed) - BRUXELLES, 10 MAR - Il consiglio dei governatori della fondazione Anna Lindh per il dialogo interculturale ha eletto oggi all'unanimità André Azoulay come nuovo presidente per il periodo 2008-2011. Gli ambasciatori dei paesi euromediterranei si sono espressi all'unanimità nel sostenere il nome di Azoulay, che ricoprirà la carica a partire da oggi. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, commissario Ue alle Relazioni Esterne, commentando l'elezione del nuovo presidente ha detto: "Sono molto contenta della notizia, Azoulay non è soltanto un mio amico personale ma anche un amico del Mediterraneo e un campione di dialogo e confronto, dotato di grande conoscenza ed esperienza". La fondazione Anna Lindh è la prima istituzione euromediterranea finanziata da tutti i Paesi delle due sponde. Il suo obiettivo è avvicinare nord e sud favorendo lo scambio tra le popolazioni. EUROMED: AZOULAY APPOINTED AS NEW ANNA LINDH'S PRESIDENT
(ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, MARCH 10 - At its meeting in Brussels today, the Board of Governors of the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures formally elected André Azoulay as its first President for the period 2008 until 2011. The Board of Governors, comprising ambassadors and senior officials from all members of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, were unanimous in their choice of Azoulay who will take up his new position immediately. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighourhood Policy, commented on Azoulay's election: "I am delighted by this news. Azoulay is not only a personal friend but also a friend of the Mediterranean and a great champion of intercultural dialogue and understanding. He brings immense knowledge, wisdom and experience to this challenging position". The Anna Lindh Foundation is the first common institution jointly established and financed by members of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership.
