EUROMED: A ROMA COMMISSIONE CULTURA, TRA TEMI MIGRAZIONI
(ANSAmed) - ROMA, 12 FEB - Dai fenomeni migratori alla desertificazione nel bacino del Mediterraneo, fino alle attività del Parlamento euro-mediterraneo dei giovani. Di questo si parlerà nella prossima riunione della Commissione per la promozione della qualità della vita, gli scambi umani e la cultura dell´Assemblea parlamentare euromediterranea, in programma venerdì 15 febbraio a Roma. All´apertura dei lavori, che saranno ospitati a Palazzo Montecitorio, è atteso il presidente della Camera dei deputati Fausto Bertinotti. La giornata sarà aperta con uno scambio di vedute sulle cause del fenomeno migratorio nella regione del Mediterraneo e sulle prospettive per rafforzare i meccanismi di cooperazione internazionale, con una relazione sul tema del direttore regionale dell´Oim (Organizzazione internazionale per le migrazioni) per il Mediterraneo in Italia, Peter Schatzer. I lavori proseguiranno con un dibattito sul 2008 anno euro-mediterraneo del dialogo tra culture e sulla voce dei Parlamenti in vista della Prima Conferenza dei Ministri delle Cultura euro-mediterranei prevista a maggio in Grecia. Nel pomeriggio l´ordine del giorno prevede un dibattito sul fenomeno della desertificazione nel bacino del Mediterraneo, con particolare riferimento all´accesso all´acqua come diritto per tutti. Infine si discuterà anche dell´attività della Fondazione Anna Lindh e le interrelazioni con l´Apem, dei progressi del Gruppo di lavoro sull´istituzione di una Università euro-mediterranea e dell´attività del Parlamento euro-mediterraneo dei giovani. EUROMED: CULTURE COMMISSION IN ROME, MIGRATION ON THE AGENDA
(ANSAmed) - ROME, FEBRUARY 13 - From the migratory phenomena to the desertification in the Mediterranean basin, to the activities of the Young Peoplés EuroMed Parliament. These topics will be on the agenda of the next meeting of the Commission for the promotion of life quality, human exchanges and culture of the EuroMediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, to be held on February 15 in Rome. The president of the Italian Parliament Chamber Fausto Bertinotti is expected to attend the opening of the meeting, held at Palazzo Montecitorio. The day will start with a discussion on the causes of the migratory phenomenon in the Mediterranean region and on the prospects for the reinforcement of the international cooperation mechanisms, with a report on the topic by the regional director of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) for the Mediterranean in Italy, Peter Schatzer. The meeting will continue with a debate on 2008, the Euro-Mediterranean year of dialogue among cultures, and on the voice of Parliaments in view of the first conference of Euro-Mediterranean Culture Ministers, scheduled for May in Greece. In the afternoon, the agenda envisages a debate on the phenomenon of the desertification on the Mediterranean basin, with particular reference to the access to water as a right for everyone. Finally, the discussion will focus on the activities of the Foundation Anna Lindh and the inter-relations with EMPA, on the progresses made by the workgroup on the establishment of EuroMediterranean University and on the activity of the Young Peoplés EuroMed Parliament.
