ELETTO PAPA COL NOME DI BENEDETTO XVI

ROMA, 19 APR - Il cardinale Joseph Ratzinger è stato eletto Papa col
nome di Benedetto XVI. Il successore di Giovanni Paolo II si è
affacciato alla finestra centrale della Basilica di San Pietro da
dove ha rivolto la benedizione alla folla di fedeli radunati in
piazza.

RATZINGER IS NEW POPE WITH THE NAME OF BENEDICT XVI
(ANSAmed) - VATICAN CITY, APRIL 19 - Joseph Ratzinger of Germany was
elected new Pope with the name of Benedict XVI. The successor of
John Paul II appeared at the main balcony of St Peter's Basilica and
gave his first Urbi et Orbi (To the City and the World) blessing.
"After the great Pope John Paul II, the cardinals elected me, a
simple, humble worker in the vineyards of the Lord", said the new
Pope. "It consoles me that the Lord is able to work with inadequate
instruments and above all I entrust myself to your prayers", he
added, speaking Italian.
