MED: STEFANIA CRAXI, NAPOLI SEDE CONSIGLIO FONDAZIONE LINDH
(ANSAmed) - NAPOLI, 26 SET - Napoli potrebbe diventare la sede permanente del Consiglio consultivo della "Fondazione euromediterranea Anna Lindh per il dialogo tra le culture". La proposta è stata presentata oggi nel capoluogo campano, nella sede della Fondazione Mediterraneo, dal sottosegretario agli Esteri, Stefania Craxi, in occasione dell'apertura dei lavori del Consiglio stesso. Insieme con il sottosegretario, il presidente della Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, e l'assessore comunale alla Cultura, Nicola Oddati, hanno presentato la città di Napoli come candidata ideale per ospitare il Consiglio dell'istituzione nata nel 2005 in applicazione dei principi posti dal Partenariato Euro-Mediterraneo del 1995. "Il nostro obiettivo - ha detto Stefania Craxi - è fare della Fondazione Lindh il centro del dialogo nel Mediterraneo, e dell'Unione per il Mediterraneo il quadro politico-istituzionale attraverso il quale rimediare le storture e gli insuccessi del Processo di Barcellona". Il sottosegretario agli Esteri ha quindi offerto ai membri del Consiglio consultivo la Fondazione Mediterraneo come sede permanente delle loro riunioni. "La Fondazione - ha detto - è disposta a ospitare in modo permanente il Consiglio e il governo italiano è disposto a sostenere questo impegno". Dal canto suo, il presidente della Fondazione Anna Lindh, André Azoulay, ha assicurato davanti all'assemblea che è sua ferma intenzione stabilire a Napoli la sede del Consiglio Consultivo della Fondazione. "Vogliamo basare la nostra iniziativa - ha detto - in un luogo ricco di storia come Napoli, la prima città che ci offre proposte e strumenti concreti". Fare di Napoli la città simbolo dell'accoglienza e dell'incontro tra diverse culture appare una priorità anche per l'assessore comunale alla Cultura Oddati: "L'obiettivo di fondo della nostra amministrazione è far crescere la consapevolezza della convivenza e dell'accoglienza tra le nuove generazioni. In questa direzione - ha aggiunto - un altro appuntamento importante sarà il Forum universale delle Culture del 2013, per il quale stiamo lavorando già da adesso". E' stato infine il presidente della Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, a illustrare ai membri del Consiglio consultivo della Fondazione Lindh la quindicennale attività dell'organismo da lui presieduto, e a issare sul tetto della sede di via Depretis la bandiera dell'Unione per il Mediterraneo, dono - ha detto Capasso - del presidente francese Nicolas Sarkozy. (ANSAmed) - NAPLES, SEPTEMBER 26 - Naples should become permanent seat of the consultative council of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures, Italian foreign ministry undersecretary Stefania Craxi, proposed today at the opening of the works of the council at the seat of the Fondazione Mediterraneo in Campaniàs main city. Along with the undersecretary, the president of Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, and the culture councillor of Naples, Nicola Oddati, presented the city of Naples as the perfect candidate to host the council of the institution, created in 2005 in accordance with the principles of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership set up in 1995. "Our objective is to turn the Lindh Foundation into a centre of dialogue in the Mediterranean, and to make the Union for the Mediterranean the political and institutional framework through which we will correct the mistakes and failures of the Barcelona Process," Stefania Craxi said. The foreign ministry undersecretary then offered the members of the consultative council the Fondazione Mediterraneo as the permanent seat for their meetings. "The foundation is ready to host permanently the council and the Italian government is ready to support this effort," she added. The president of the Anna Lindh Foundation, Andre Azoulay, assured the assembly that it is his firm intention to base the consultative council of the foundation in Naples. "We want to have our initiative based in a place with a rich history such as Naples, the first city that has offered concrete proposals and instruments," he said. Turning Naples into a city symbol of reception and meeting of different cultures appears to be a priority also for culture councillor Oddati: "The objective of our administration is to increase the awareness of cohabitation and reception among the new generations. Another important initiative in this respect will be the Universal Forum of Cultures in 2013, on which we are already working," he said. The president of Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, explained to the members of the consultative council of the Lindh Foundation the fifteen-year-long activity of the organisation he leads, and raised on top of the building the flag of the Union for the Mediterranean, a gift from French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
