This book summarizes the activities of the
Marrakesh Office of the Mediterranean Academy from its beginning
– April 24th 1999 - to the institution of Averroès
Chair on Mediterranean Studies (2000). This last initiative
was carried out also thanks to the collaboration of the University
Cady Ayyad of Marrakesh and the contribution from other Mediterranean
Institutions in view of making this Chair a pole able to coordinate
different disciplines concerning the Mediterranean regions.
As a matter of fact, the aim is to contribute in a larger
circulation of ideas and knowledge in the Mediterranean area
and to reaffirm, through intellectual, cultural and scientific
exchange, the links between the two shores.
