The Anna Lindh Foundation and the Fondazione Mediterraneo have the pleasure to announce the launch of the online voting for the Winner of the Fifth Edition of the Euro-Med Award for Dialogue between Cultures.
This annual award recognises the achievements of individuals and organizations that have been at the forefront of promoting Dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region. This year’s theme is Dialogue for Ecological Sustainability in the framework of the UN International Year of Biodiversity and in light of the UN efforts to reach an international agreement in the fight against the climate change.
The 5 Runners-up for this year’s edition are:
1. Mr. Nikos Chrysogelos (Greece);
2. Friends of the Earth Middle East (Palestine/Israel/Jordan);
3. Regional Environmental Centre for Central and Eastern Europe REC (17 European countries and Turkey);
4. Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (Greece);
5. The Islamic Culture Foundation (FUNCI) (Spain).
All our National Network members in the 43 Euro-Med countries are invited to participate in this electoral process by submitting their vote online. Each member can submit only one vote.
The candidate who gets the majority of votes within a National Network will be considered the candidate of this respective network. And, the candidate who receives the highest number of nominations by the 43 National Networks will receive the Award.
The deadline for voting is 5 July 2010.

From 20th to 23rd of May the Associazione LEM-Italia, in collaboration with
Associazione Culturale Villa Badessa and the Dipartimento di Teorie e Politiche dello Sviluppo Sociale of Teramo University organized the Permanent Conference "Teaching local languages: institutions, methods, ideology".
President of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso made a speech in the session coordinated by Giovanni Agresti.
Henri Giordan and Alexey Kozhemyakov also made interventions to illustrate de development of the web portal Languages of Europe and the Mediterranean (LEM), one of the main projects of Fondazione Mediterraneo.
