4th EDITION
PREMIO MEDITERRANEO
On January 4th 2001, will be held the 4th Edition of Premio Mediterraneo,
which takes place in such a difficult moment for the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict, the weakness of Balkan democracies and the continuous
tensions in Algeria, Lebanon, Cyprus and Turkey.
The winners are :
Premio Mediterraneo di Pace to Leah Rabin
Premio Mediterraneo di Cultura to Cardinal Roger Etchegaray
Premio Mediterraneo d’Arte to the singers Noah (Israeli) and
Nabil (Palestinian)
The awards will be received by:
The Plenipotentiary Minister Amos Radian for Leah Rabin
Ambassador Shmuel Hadas (first Ambassador of Israel to the Holy
See and to Spain) on behalf of Cardinal Etchegaray, who is, in these
days, engaged with Hadas, in Jerusalem as delegate of the Pope,
trying to start again the Peace process.
The Palestinian singer Nabil, will receive the award for himself
and on Noah’s behalf.
