The
Megaride 94 Charter, which gathers the ten principles to build
the 21st century city – wired city, city of peace, city
of science – proposes itself as a scientific, cultural
and behavioural model aimed at facing the problems raised
by the 2nd UN Habitat World Conference (UNCHS – City
Summit), such as degradation of settlements and sustainable
development. The Congress, which took place in Naples, was
organized through the support of the Service for Environmental
and Architectonic Heritage of Naples and of the Mediterranean
Laboratory Foundation. The book means to present the contributions
provided by the international scientific community about the
theoretical, methodological and experimental progresses concerning
the principles of Megaride 94 Charter.
