ITALIANI NEL MONDO

International Meeting, Naples – Mostra d’Oltremare 15th –16th-17th November 1996, G. Albano – L. Scognamiglio – G. Forlenza, Edizioni della Mostra d’Oltremare, Naples 1997 (It.), format 21x27 - pp. 136;

The International Meeting Italiani nel Mondo (Italians across the World), presented in this publication, has confirmed the importance of the role played by the Ente Autonomo Mostra d’Oltremare in the project “Italiani nel mondo 1996-2000”. Among the actions performed during the first phase we need to mention the creation of the “Collana Editoriale di storia sociale ed economica”, started with the first volume Italiani nel mondo followed by the

publication of the second volume containing a summary of the official speeches delivered at the Meeting, the subsequent debate and the history in pictures of the Mostra d’Oltremare from 1937 to 1996. Among the speeches, it is worth mentioning the one by Michele Capasso, president of the Mediterranean Laboratory Foundation, who, pointing out the similarity of aims and programmes, urges the Ente Mostra d’Oltremare to plan shared and parallel actions based on the founding principles of common good in order to improve the relationships among peoples and solve the serious problems that trouble the human kind by means of joint actions carried out by institutions and voluntary workers.
