The book “Leopardi in Naples: Chronicle of a Troublesome
Love at the Time of Cholera Epidemics” presents, like
in a short novel or better in a black and white film, the
stay in Naples of Giacomo Leopardi. The poet of melancholy
lived in Naples almost four years, from the day when he arrived
there with Antonio Ranieri on October 2nd 1833 until June
14th 1837, the day if his death. The author depicts realistically
the death of the poet, leaving a page open on the shadows
still cast on the mystery of his funeral. The book is dedicated
to the Mediterranean Laboratory Foundation which stands in
defence of civil society and of the spirit, traditions and
culture of the Mediterranean world.
