ALPEADRIACINEMA.
TRIESTE FILM FESTIVAL - XV EDIZIONE
Catalogo della rassegna cinematografica - Trieste, 15-22 gennaio
2004 a cura di Tiziana Ciancetta, Giovanna Tinunin, Trieste
2004 (ed. it/ing.), f.to 21x22 - pp. 297;
Over
the years, Alpe Adria Cinema has earned its right to a place
in the forefront of the numerous of cultural events organized
by Trieste. This success is based on the organizers becoming
aware of the precarious nature of certain borders and barriers
well before the Wall was pulled down.
Alpe Adria Film Festival has recently joined the European
Film Festival Coordination and has followed and recorded the
upheavals that have shaken Europe over the past ten years,
becoming a privileged observer of the effects these changes
have produced in the culture of all over Europe.
The 15th Festival is screening over 100 works from eastern
Europe, bringing together the latest films by eastern European
film-makers and tributes to some great forefathers from the
area, giving rise to a complex and multifaceted event. This
year’s Festival explores with especial thoroughness
the most innovative trends in a new cinema eager to explore
every technical and narrative technique with works determined
to investigate the world around us.
Alpe Adria Cinema is a shining example of how to build special
realms of solidarity, which are the best guarantee of democracy,
peace and shared development. It is in this spirit that the
Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo awards the Mediterranean
Laboratory Prize for the best short film.
