EPISTOLARIO
DELL’ALTRA EUROPA
Predrag Matvejevic, Garzanti editore, Milano
1992 (it.), f.to 13x21 – pp. 344 - ISBN 88-11-73820-2
Epistolario dell’Altra Europa collects an ample
selection of “open letters” by Predrag Matvejevic,
President of the International Scientific Comittee of Fondazione
Laboratorio Mediterraneo. During the past 20 years he has been
sending them to various personalities in politics and culture:
they are letters of defence, acts of accusations, autobiographical
confessions, narratives, personal considerations, researches
on evolutions of populations and cultures.
In short, it a great and illuminating composition of dissent,
a saga on the relations between East and West by reconstructing
implicitly the history of Central and Eastern Europe from the
October Revolution until today. |
|
Suspended between history and literature, these often “risky”
pages call upon a vast gallery of personalities, sometimes
wrongdoers, sometimes victims; going from Stalin to Buchanin
and Trockij, from Breznev and Gorbacëv to Sacharov.
