LA CARTA. RIFLESSIONI - INTERPRETAZIONI - FONTI
International Congress “Da Megaride 94 a Habitat II – Degrado urbano e città cablata – sulla strada di Istambul” – Teatrino di Corte, Royal Palace – Naples, 2nd December 1995, Naples 1995 (it.), format 12x17 – pp. 1326

The Megaride 94 Charter, which gathers the ten principles to build the 21st century city – wired town, town of peace, town of science – proposes itself as a scientific, cultural and behavioural model aimed at facing the problems raised by the 2nd UN World Conference about habitat (UNCHS – City Summit), such as deterioration of settlements and sustainable development. The Congress, which took place in Naples, was organized through the support of the Service for Environmental and Architectonic Heritage of Naples and of Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo. The book means to present the contributions provided by the international and scientific community about theoretical, methodological and experimental progresses concerning the principles of Megaride 94 Charter. The group Innovazione tecnologica e trasformazioni territoriali per la città del XXI secolo, which promoted the Megaride 94 Charter, is coordinated by Prof. Corrado Beguinot, professor of town-planning at the University of Naples “Federico II” and member of the International Scientific Committee of the Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo.
