The fifth session of the II Forum
Civile Euromed, within the thematic area Values and Cultures
as Resources, confirmed the importance of Barcelona resolution
recommending to develop the inter-religious and inter-cultural
dialogue. The overcoming of stereotypes and prejudices is
valid for the religion but also for all barriers created by
particularisms and different histories, origins, cultures.
The dialogue, either inter-religious, inter-ethnic or inter-cultural,
must include a spirit of acceptance, of listening to and opening
towards others. Among the proposed projects were: Inter-cultural
Forum among Monotheistic Religions ; Stage for Mediterranean
students in order to promote occasions of cultural and religions
confrontation ; Starting a campaign of education to peace
in schools so as to learn how to manage conflicts.
