PREMI: A SARKOZY IL 'MEDITERRANEO ISTITUZIONI 2008'
(ANSAmed) - NAPOLI, 12 MAR - E' stato assegnato al Presidente della Repubblica francese Nicolas Sarkozy il 'Premio Mediterraneo Istituzioni 2008'. Lo ha annunciato a Napoli Michele Capasso, presidente della Fondazione Mediterraneo, alla presentazione della sezione 'Mediterranea' della fiera del libro Galassia Gutenberg (partner di Galassia è AnsaMed). La manifestazione si terrà nella Stazione Marittima dal 28 al 31 marzo con un focus sulla cultura palestinese. Secondo Capasso "Sarkozy ritiene che il dialogo sia uno strumento essenziale per unire popoli e culture". La notizia del premio giunge alla vigilia dell'apertura della fiera del libro di Parigi dove le polemiche sul boicottaggio di scrittori arabi e israeliani avrebbero suggerito al Presidente francese di non partecipare. "La Fondazione Mediterraneo, che opera da 15 anni per il dialogo, in quanto capofila della Fondazione Anna Lindh per il dialogo e istituzione con Statuto partecipativo al Consiglio d'Europa per l'interazione sociale e culturale nell'ambito euromediterraneo - sottolinea il presidente Capasso - riconosce in Galassia Gutenberg, già premiata nel 2007, un luogo privilegiato di dialogo perché, nonostante i problemi che attanagliano Napoli, ha saputo accogliere con intelligenza e equilibrio i vari attori del dialogo tra culture e civiltà. Tutte le etichette monotematiche poco si adattano ai saloni del libro che devono fondarsi sul valore delle diverse identità plurali". A curare la sezione di Galassia Gutenberg 'Mediterranea' è l'arabista Isabella Camera d'Afflitto che presenterà il volume 'Cento anni di cultura palestinese' con lo scrittore Mourid Bharguti e Eric Salerno. "Sono ormai tre anni che abbiamo aperto uno spazio di confronto con i Paesi del Mediterraneo - spiega l'organizzatrice della fiera del libro di Napoli, Maria Liguori - in particolare con nazioni come l'Egitto, il Libano, la Palestina o Israele, e ospitato scrittori, intellettuali e personalità di spicco della cultura araba e mediterranea che si sono espressi a favore del dialogo, della democrazia e della libera circolazione dell'informazione, pagando anche con la vita come nel caso di Samir Kassir, intellettuale libanese e testimone di pace a Napoli, assassinato tragicamente in Libano". PRIZES: SARKOZY WINS 'MEDITERRANEAN INSTITUTIONS 2008'
(ANSAmed) - NAPLES, MARCH 12 - French President Nicolas Sarkozy won the prize 'Mediterranean Institutions 2008', it was announced in Naples by Michele Capasso, president of the Mediterranean Foundation, at the presentation of the Mediterranean section of the book fair Galassia Gutenberg (ANSAmed is partner of Galassia Gutenberg). The event will take place at the Maritime Station from March 28 to 31, and will focus, among other topics, on the Palestinian culture. The Mediterranean section of Galassia Gutenberg was organised by Arab world expert Isabella Camera d'Afflitto, who will present the volume 'One Hundred Years of Palestinian Culture', with writer Mourid Bharguti and Eric Salerno. "Three years ago we opened a space for dialogue with the Mediterranean countries, and in particular with states such as Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine and Israel, and we hosted writers, intellectuals and important personalities of the Arab and Mediterranean culture, who expressed themselves in favour of dialogue, democracy and free circulation of information, and paid for this also with their life, as in the case of Samir Kassir, Lebanese intellectual and peace representative in Naples, tragically assassinated in Lebanon", Maria Liguori, organiser of the Naples book fair, explained.
