BRANCH ACTIVITIES
Cinema, Chaire Averroès, Meda Projects

The Moroccan office realizes since 2002 important actions for dialogue and social integration. The Chaire Averroès has arisen from the joined initiative of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the University of Cadi Ayyad in Marrakech (UCAM). The Chaire Averroès was funded in 1998. In September 1999 it has signed an agreement with Unesco with which it was defined as "Chaire Averroès-Chaire UNESCO of High Mediterranean Studies.” In the next five years the Fondazione will contribute, thank to this activity, to spread ideas and knowledge in the Mediterranean. This will be possible through intercultural, cultural and scientific exchanges aiming at strengthening ties between the two shores. UCAM – one of the most important universities in Africa and in the south strip – is an example of excellence even as partner of FM for Meda "Cinemamed" and "Medpride" projects.
